Members don't cancel. They drift.
29 June 2026
Almost nobody wakes up and decides to quit the gym. What actually happens is quieter. Someone comes four times a week, then twice, then once a fortnight. The card keeps getting charged. Then one month they notice it, and they cancel. By the time it shows up in your churn report, the decision was made weeks ago.
That gap is the whole problem. A cancellation is a lagging signal. The drift that caused it is a leading one, and most gyms cannot see it until it is too late to do anything kind about it.
Why streaks beat reminders
A "we miss you" email after three weeks away is a tombstone, not a nudge. It tells someone they have already failed. Streaks work the other way round. They give a small, daily reason to come back before the habit breaks, and they make the easy week feel worth protecting.
What we are building
Wellfy gives members streaks, leagues and friends worth showing up for, and gives gyms a quiet view of who is slipping while there is still time to help. No spreadsheets, no guesswork, and it runs from a phone. It is free for gyms, always.
We are building it in public. If that sounds like your gym, join the waitlist or come and argue with us on Discord.
